Further to the previously circulated MCV, please see the below update on developing actions. Action 2 – Control Centre Flagging and Patrol Prompting: This action is now complete. Any calls to the Control Centre relating to this area will now automatically flag to me and generate a prompt for attending patrols. This ensures improved awareness, coordination and consistency in responses to incidents within the area. Action 10 – Hotspot Tasking Patrols: This action is now complete. The area has been designated as a hotspot tasking location. Patrols will default to patrol the area on Fridays and Saturday evenings and update a tasking report accordingly. This will provide improved visibility of policing activity and assist in deterring anti-social behaviour. Action 12 – Environmental Maintenance / Street Cleaning: This action is now complete. Street cleaning teams will attend and clear any discarded items to prevent deterioration of the area. Should there be any sightings of surplus litter, please notify the council on telephone 01732 227000, and they will arrange clearance. Action 26 – Section 34 Dispersal Powers (ASB, Crime and Policing Act 2014): This action is now complete. Wording has been drafted for the use of Section 34 dispersal powers, enabling police to authorise dispersals where appropriate. These powers allow officers to require individuals involved in, or likely to commit, anti-social behaviour to leave an area for up to 48 hours and permit the seizure of items linked to such behaviour. This draft has now been added to the area briefing and can be implemented at short notice should any ASB occur, ensuring officers can act swiftly and effectively in response to incidents. |
